Translations and editing

I started working as a freelance translator more than 10 years ago, next to my studies. I continued translating next to my jobs after university (and translating was always a part of my jobs, too), and since 2009 I am a fulltime translator and editor.
Since February 2014 I am working as an in-house reviewer (freelance) for a big US Search Engine company: localization of websites and software (e.g. apps) and linguistic validation (feedback to translators).
From May 2013-Dec. 2014 I worked for the German site of Redbull.com: translations of articles and content management.
Since 2011 I regularly translate online shops and other texts for fashion companies like The North Face and Oakley.
For different agencies I translate and review texts mainly from the fields of marketing, PR, market research and advertising.

I am also working as a Yoga teacher, and so I translate and review texts for Yoga Journal and non-fiction books from the health and fitness sector.

From my previous jobs I have work experience in the fields of market research, public relations and publishing, I have also assigned translation jobs to freelancers – therefore I know the demands and requirements of clients first-hand, not only theoretically, and I can implement this knowledge in my translation work.

During my studies at Hamburg University (English-, American- and German literature, language and culture, M.A. degree) I attended seminars dealing with literary and scientific translations and started translating for my first clients in 2001.
